Original Top Hat C127 Crystal Passes Pressure Test - Is That Unusual?
My 1680 just returned from a movement service by a local watchmaker. He did not remove the C127 crystal or retaining ring during service, but did replace all gaskets. The watch passed a dry pressure test.
I occasionally quickly rinse the watch under a faucet and wipe it dry, but do not swim or otherwise submerse it. Should I be concerned that the crystal was not replaced? Is it unusual for a 50+ year old acrylic crystal to still pass a pressure test? |
