Patek Calavtrava Recs
Greetings....
Im on the prowl for a yellow gold and leather strap piece. While the 1908 Rolex is nice some of my friends have mentioned, you can get a better time piece from another company. I really like the calatravas that Patek offers(offered) but not sure if I want to spend 40k. Smooth bezel. Yellow gold. Can you recommend any refs for my journey? Feel free to throw other options as well(yellow gold "Dress" watch) Thank you, |

Take a look at the 5296 series. Classic or sector dial. 38mm.

5227J or 5227R from the current Patek lineup. Another great option is a JLC master thin, which will be considerably less expensive than a Patek - https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/us-...ter-ultra-thin

I would look for a 5196j or 5227j, for a little more than $40k look at the 5140j.

thank you everyone.
I love the case on the newer Calatravas. The Jaegers MUTs seem to be all rose gold. Any other recs? |

5107 and 5127 if you like crown guards or 3998 or 5096 if you want to go smaller.
Just to add, while I love 5107P black I wouldn't go 5107J or 5127J as I don't think the sporty crown guards work all that well in yellow gold. The 3998 is smaller at 34mm just like the 5096 which was an interim step between the small 3796 and the oversized 5196 (for its small movement). I'd strongly consider 5096J if I wanted a smaller yellow gold Calatrava but they are not cheap anymore and there aren't many out there. |

Another vote for the 3998. I also like the 3919. These are both slightly smaller than modern tastes but you can find the current reference equivalents.
