Incoming!!!!

Very lucky to have just received my 15510st. This is my first AP. Living in Vancouver, I figured there would be very little chance of getting a watch from AP directly. But, after a simple email to their website, and a little patience, this beauty came in the mail yesterday. I'm thrilled!Name: IMG-20241206-WA0030.jpg

Amazing. Congrats. Who did you email as there are not any ADs in Canada (I’m in Toronto). Cheers

Thank you! Very kind of you to say. I was a bit worried because of how large everyone says they wear, but I must say, it fits like a dream.

Thank you! I just emailed their contact form on the main corporate website. Explained where I lived and asked if there was a route for Canadians to obtain their watches. Much to my amazement, they replied and was contacted by someone shortly thereafter.

Thank you! I just emailed the main corporate website and filled out contact form and explained where I lived and asked if there was a process for Canadians to purchase their watches. Much to my surprise, they replied and shortly thereafter they set up a phone call to discuss what I was looking for.

Congrats! Impressive as a first piece, even more so as it was just an email.

If yuh ding mind me asking - can you provide some more information on your background and collection? Wonder if you’re a “whale” and AP jumped at the opportunity.

Thanks! Well I'm probably the furthest thing from a "whale" there is. In fact, I only have one other watch and it's very modest. They have a program designed around getting folks watches that don't have boutiques near them ("nomad program"). I should add, this was by no means instant. I waited several years to get the exact reference I asked for. But was never pressured to buy anything else, it wasn't even mentioned. I actually turned down a black dial 15500 before I eventually was allocated this watch. I basically checked in periodically, told them I was still interested, and they said they would do their best to get me the piece I wanted.

Wow, that's incredible. When they allocated the watch, from what dealership did it come from? You said that you had phone calls as well, from what store? Did you have to physically go to the location to set up this transaction?

As it turns out, yes it was. Although I didn't actually know that until I met the person I had been dealing with when he came to Vancouver and we went for coffee. That's when he explained the program to me and how it works.

Thank you! So as it was explained to me, their nomad program is typically for folks who have no boutiques in their country or area. They are individual sales people who basically operate like their own boutique. They get their own inventory, do their own allocations etc. I never dealt with any boutique. The watch was shipped to me from their service centre in Clearwater FL. After initial contact, a phone call was set up, I guess a bit of an interview process, but all very casual. Then I just waited, checked in here and there. The fellow even came to Vancouver and met me for coffee! I was quite impressed with the whole thing actually.
