Is there an online resource that shows how many links come with each Rolex bracelet
In the last year I've sold multiple five digit Rolex watches. Each time I've scrounged around on the internet to see how many links they would have originally been sold with.
Does anyone have a link or reference to this kind of information centrally located? It seems like something someone would have put together, but I haven't found it if they did. |

What bracelet are you asking about? Generally, jubilees have 22 links, and Oysters have 12. Rolex is notorious for being stingy with links. If you have a large wrist, you may need to purchase extra links. When buying preowned, often sellers will remove solid gold links to sell them for extra profit, thereby making an already short bracelet even shorter.
You can research a specific bracelet to find out how many links it should have, though I’ve never seen one specific source for that info. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

There doesn't seem to be a centralized database for that.

Did you buy them new? As far as I know, they should have 12 full links. My OP and Explorer both have 12, as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

This might help, though I’m confused about the ones that claim to have only one end link. Perhaps they are referring to the partial links that attach to the clasp, rather than the end pieces that attach to the watch head, between the lugs, which is always 2.

But this is why it's confusing to search for info on bracelets. Different people use different terms. I've seen technical manuals from Rolex that show a schematic for certain bracelets. How nice would it be to have all that info in one place? Making it even more difficult to determine how many links a bracelet should have, so many gray market dealers steal links out of watches they sell. Then offer to sell you one or two if you need them! |

One thing that will confuse you is that in the service documents for the older bracelets the last link with for instance 93150 stamped into it is the end link.
The thing with for instance 580 stamped into it is the end link fitting. It is usually not a problem, but sometimes you need to specify and use the terminology from the service documents. |

This information is referenced "officially" into Rolex master catalogs , and in a better way in Rolex R8 watchmaker document. |

Is the link which attaches to the glide lock counted as one of the links? This may clarify some of the confusion here.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I assume the links circled in red below are included when a resource says a bracelet comes with 12 links? For reference, this is the 78360.

78360 come with 13 links not 12 , and yes those 2 links are accounted for total of 13. At left 1991 Master catalog , at right R8 catalog : |

I believe the circled link is what the list I posted is calling the end links, and why some watches are listed as having just one, and others 2. The list I posted is from a Rolex dealer, who posted it in 2024. When I refer to Oyster bracelets as having 12 links, I’m talking about full links, so not the circled one. As we all know, some are removable, usually 4, and the rest are not. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

This is super helpful information, as I’ve often wondered the same thing. I’ve seen a number of used Rolex watches for sale that have no removable links, or have just one or two. As surprising as it sounds, many people do just toss the extra links.
So, put another way, how many removable links come with the different bracelets? Three? Four? Even the ladies’ sized bracelets, e.g. or 26-28mm, 31mm, 34mm? |

I have read that Jubilee bracelets have 9 removable links, and I know all my Oyster bracelets have 4 removable links. It could be this is the standard Rolex follows, despite the watch’s size. I’ve never owned a Rolex watch in the ladies’ sizes. All mine are listed as 36 mm. I think two things happen when people buy a new watch. They lose the removed links, or toss them. If the links are solid gold, they sell the extra links. Sometimes watch resellers deliberately remove gold links to sell them separately, which I think is dishonest. I’ve seen many watch ads that mention they will sell you extra links, if needed. Crazy!

As in the end that attaches to the clasp, which is how some folks refer to them online, not to be confused with what we normally refer to as end links, which are, of course, between the lugs. If you read the list I posted, (post # 11) you’ll see all of the watches that have Oyster bracelets say they have one end link, which I surmise is the circled one, in post #22. I confirmed this by studying my Explorer’s bracelet. The other end of the bracelet, that attaches to the fold over side of the clasp, does not have that link. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I think the 11 series Super Jubilee bracelets with the hidden clasp may have more links than the 12 series Jubilees with the clasp.
I bought my preowned (but stickered) 11 series DJ with 22 links and I am sure new it must have come with more (probably 2 or 3)

I know this isn’t what is being asked specifically, but bracelet link numbers are really are sort of immaturial as it pertains to fit. The case size and shape totally change the dynamic of a watch fitting. I am extremely fussy when it comes to bracelet fit. I like my bracelets on the tighter side, but certainly not too tight.
On my Datejust 41, I took one link out from one side of the Jubilee bracelet and left the micro adjust at the middle notch of the clasp. On my GMT-Master II on Jubilee, I moved one link from one side of the bracelet to the other to balance the clasp better and moved the micro adjust to the tightest notch on the clasp. Both watches fit identically, but the case shape required totally different adjustments. |
