Bezel insert for 16710

So glad to have joined this forum. You've all have been very helpful in answering my questions as I prep for the hunt of my daily wearer 16710 (blue/red).
Another question that popped up for me is if I find that one and I send it in for a servicing (which I plan to since I won't know the last service) the RSC will change it to the bezel insert that it was originally sold with, correct? Example, if I send in a LN that was originally a Coke, they will change it back to the Coke and of course keep the LN.

I talked to a Rolex AD watchmaker about this a couple of weeks ago as I was looking for a 16700 or 16710. He told me that at this time Rolex is permitting the exchange of bezels on a color for color basis. If it comes in with a black, they will give you a service black and keep the old bezel. If you have a Coke, they will replace it with a Coke and keep the old bezel. They will not switch a black for Pepsi, or Pepsi for Coke, etc. They do not care what insert it was issued with I was told since they were so frequently swapped at the point of sale.

Does RSC have a different policy? Perhaps. But usually (in my experience anyway) RSC is more restrictive than AD watchmakers, not less.

The only way to know for certain is to pose this question to RSC directly.

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and there was agreement that Rolex policy has changed through the years and only Rolex can answer what the current policy is.

Thank you! Back when I had a Pepsi 16710 I was very careful to select one that had the originally issued color, but I think now it might be less of a concern. I still plan to get one just in case. Kinda like how they would allow for a jubilee to oyster bracelet swap but then recently reversed that policy, which might have been reversed again for all I know

I wanted a Pepsi 16700 or 16710 but the best one available was black. So I secured a Pepsi bezel separately. Now I have both and if I ever need a service Pepsi bezel insert in the future I know I should be good to go with a replacement by Rolex.

My original warranty paperwork is from Asia so it doesn't even indicate which insert originally came with my watch.

It definitely opens up the options, hopefully I will be able to just find one with a Pepsin bezel insert. Then I'll be torn between keeping a faded insert vs putting honest wear on a new one myself. :)
