Mrs Colnago's Watches

Well, I have been mucking about with our new camera again today......here are "Mrs Colnago's" watches.......the steel Date has recently been serviced and as part of that we had the crystal replaced as it had a nasty scratch on it......I am amazed to find that the macro facility has even managed to spot an LEC at 6 o'clock on this size of crystal!!!!.....these new cameras are brilliant.....

One of the watches is absolutely beautiful and I will not show it to my wife.

I just love those mir settings versus the new ugly round ones.

You figure out which one.

What are the details on the Stainless Steel watch?

Bill,

You may have told me before when I was asking about a watch for my wife. I think this one may be plain enough for here.

Year, approx price if you don't mind?

Thx

Yeah, I remember speaking about it before Bill.....it is a 1997 Steel Date....it cost me £1700 back then....funnily enough exactly double the cost of my DateJust I bought it to match....no idea how much it would be to replace now or how much it would be worth as a sale....it will never be sold.....just had a quick look on Blowers (a good site for ref.).....they only have 1998 versions with fluted bezel (her's has the engine turned bezel which is usually a bit cheaper)....they are up for around the £2000 mark and the new replacement cost is around £3500....in $'s divide those numbers by around 0.65 or so......any help???

Ahh Thanks. My wife would blow a gasket at those prices.

I might need to look at Omegas

Nooooooo!!!!!....you can't do that Bill......seriously...look on "the bay"......Blowers charge the earth man, I only use it as a ref........you'd get one a lot cheaper on here for sure.......the gold one no way of course......but that little steel one is a great watch......if she had to give one up it would be the Gold one......the steel one is the one with the sentimental value.....

Me too to be honest......I have looked, but far too many scary stories.....check on the for sale board on here....or sost a "want to buy" ad......see what happens....you might get a nice surprise......has to be worth a try
