I voted for the Rolex.

You need to balance out the watches on your signature, Heru

I don't understand these threads. If you don't know what watch to buy maybe you don't need to buy one.

Heru...there must be a reason for you wanting a vintage sub...I assume its your birthyear? If so...I would vote for the sub...
besides..you can always get the 312 later...this vintage of sub may not be around...

I'd say it depends on the condition of the 1680. Got any pics?

With vintage Rolex, condition is king and drives the price.

For me, if I get vintage, I need it to be near perfect. A little character is fine, but one beat to heck isn't for me.

They are totally different in design, just take your time and don't do anything to quickly. No flipping!!!!!!! Lose money almost every time. Remember the White Milgauss!!! The watches will be there later.

I voted for the 312 since you already have a SUB. Good luck and post some pics when you decide!

Get both! And if it's from the same vendor asks for a better discount ;-)

its tricky as they are both very different propositions.

I say 312 - if i was buying vintage i think i'd want it to be mint and hopefully have b&p.

Go for the 1680. You can always find a 312 later. Infact if you wait another year, those 312 will a lot cheaper.

Why is that?

If anything the weaker US dollar will drive the price up. The current economic situation has put it within many folks' grasp as is.

Heru - I voted vintage Sub. You can always get a 312.

I never understand these threads too. Folks should buy what they want and what pleases them, not what pleases the community.

sub........ many years of 312 manufacturing ahead. i would guess to say that they will increase production on the 312 as they did w/ the 104.

Sorry Heru but you know the problems I have and had with an in house Panerai....

If you were asking about a 243 or similar I think I would vote Panerai but with the 312 my vote easily goes for the Submariner

Haha! My vote could've "tied" the poll if I had voted for the vintage Sub...

But alas... I voted for the 312! Now the Pam is up 14 to 12!

*Cackle*...

I meant to say that those 312 will be easier and cheaper to get a year or less from now. The only reason they are hot is because they are new in the blocks and it's all hype just like most watches or most merchandise for that matter..

I hear ya guys...I'm getting to the point that I think I should probably refrain from commenting on future threads like this. How a bunch of strangers (with probably different tastes, hobbies, needs, ect.) can help me pick out my next watch I'll never understand.

Hey TR, I think you're a cool guy, but you know which one you really want...so go out and get it regardless of what others say. Then post a pic of that PAM for all of us to check out.

I hear ya as well... Heru knows which he wants, I think he just wants support for his choice.
