Icon14 New GMT Master II 126710 BLNR just landed. Pictorial first day and thoughts.

My new BLNR 2.0 just landed and I had a chance to take some time today between the rain drops and absorb it’s greatness. I don’t want to sound like everybody else but pics don’t do this watch justice. It’s color combo with the sparkling jubilee is a stunner. I will say it’s probably more “bling” than my CHNR.

I first did my unboxing and macro lens review of the entire watch as I removed the stickers. I needed to remove only one link. FYI, I had to use a finer screwdriver than the Panerai one I always use. The screw heads are a bit finer on the jubilee bracelet but the actual pins and threads are the same thickness as what the Submariner uses. It’s a stout bracelet but the head of the screw has been reduced for aesthetic reasons.

The jubilee bracelet is everything everyone said it was. It flows over the wrist in a smooth contour way. It is in fact more comfortable than the oyster. A visual effect of the new Jubilee bracelet is that it plays with the light and shadows more than the oyster making it look more 3D. It sparkles but then has a shadow as the link rolls in. It’s very eye catching even when the sun is not on it.

As I was going over my BLNR I noticed that every crown, bezel mark and dial crown lines up perfectly. Even the lower crown between the “Swiss Made” lines up as if there was a perfect strait line all the way through the watch. I am not this ocd but it certainly the most perfect example I have received from Rolex.

To top it off even the crown is perfectly aligned. I am not sure if Rolex is starting a higher level of quality control on the new models or I just got double lucky??

The crown tube was silky smooth as I unwound the crown to set the new 3238 movement. Winding was smooth as glass just like my last CHNR. I wound it 40 times until I could hear the clutch slip with a faint “tick click”.

Bezel is firm but smooth as it snaps to its next position with no play in any direction. Totally precise. I don’t remember my CHNR feeling this exact. The tolerance between the turning bezel and case is so close I almost cant see any space between. That is also better than I remember.

The way the jubilee endlings transition seamlessly into the case. I don’t recall ever seeing Rolex do a better job at this. Tolerances are unbelievably small. It’s almost like the bracelet top endlink and the case are permanently attached. The polished center section appears to practically touch the bezel. That is excellent attention to detail and superior fit and finish.
When the weather clears up more I will get some more pics but as of now the watch is very hard to capture it’s full glory.

Thanks everyone.

I have two Shetland Sheepdogs ( shelties )

Wrist presence is a rock star yet it’s also so comfortable. So far I would say it’s the most comfortable Rolex or any bracelet watch I have ever owned in 30 years. The Breitling pilot bracelet is close to the comfort if that helps. It rolls and follows your wrist like a belt. I needed to post a interior bracelet pic.
