I've yet to find anyone I'd trust on Long Island. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll either send it to one of the well known and trusted watchmakers people have recommended on here or simply take it to RSC themselves.
It might cost more up front, but I'll always take that for peace of mind and knowing everything will come out correctly.

I use Rollie Works in CA, a number of their staff are former RSC. |

John Zangler, 718-225-4380, 221-06 Horace Harding Expressway, Oakland Gardens, NY. It's right off the L.I.E. Exit 29.
Call him. Tell him what you're looking to get done. He can get any internal watch part. It's the external parts that are hard to get. |

There's bound to be one horror story with any watchmaker. I've used Rolliworks and didn't have a stellar experience.

Still trying to find a decent watchmaker on LI. I'd say London jewelers or drive into the city, just for the peace of mind.

As Sillo38 echoed I'll echo this again. Just don't do it. Until someone out on the island can really break through and develop an amazing reputation amongst collectors of our caliber here on the forum, I would say send it to someone who you know will get the job done right. I can promise you that the Tourneau's and London Jewelers on the island are not going to be your answer. They are great at driving traffic and selling watches that doesn't mean that they know anything about them. |
