I’m a WG guy on DD but from those 2 would say RG as it is more subtle, less “in your face” versus YG

I like the WG DD40, personally, if you go that route. I'll just go ahead and post both for you.

Also, as William said, consider the fitment of the bracelet. Gold is heavy, and a sub, with the glide lock, has an advantage there. The DD's fit, without micro adjustment, is going to be pretty much left up to chance, unless you spring for specially sized links.
Ha! Good call. I have a bunch of subs and GMTs already. Need something else. But overall a great suggestion! Nice pics.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and post your pics. Sorry I didn't respond to each and every thread. But thank you! I'll post up some pics of the new watch soon!

YG white with romans! It’s the right amount of flash and still recognizes the history of the DD.

You can't beat the meteorite dial for pop. Don't have a photo, but you could probably find one on Mr. google. It will be well worth it.

On a separate note, the DD is the steortypical successful businessman's watch. You want to make more of a divergent image, try the WG blue dial Sub. Subtle but colorful.

Get the yellow gold with champagne dial

I choose the yellow gold 40mm. It looks gold on any outfit you wear. T shirt to a suit the day date looks spectacular no matter what! Your gonna have everyone staring at your yellow gold daydate if you choose that color

Nice! I decided to go with the Yellow Gold / White Face. Spent an hour trying on several variants of YG and RG. I'll serve-up some pics soon:-) I'm sure everyone knows what one looks like! Ha!

Thanks for all the pics!

I would suggest you consider skin tone and choose the metal. Sounds like you did that, YG DD with a white dial is a true classic. I have the Everose with the green dial and I think it works well on me.Enjoy it.

Awesome! So many great options but you will love the white. Crisp and classic. Those romans with beveling do have a nice pop when the light hits. You will love it. Congratulations, waiting on pics.

Congrats on the choice! The YG definitely has more pop to it with the bright white dial.

Best watch that portrays success especially in this dial.

You are 100% spot on with your comments That was my thought process exactly!

It was to be my “retirement” watch, but decided to buy it 20 years early.

As they say, happiness is a journey not a destination.

If you have any interest in vintage, check out the Tudor 7020's; it has a rotating bezel on top of being a DayDate and despite having more prestigious watches, it dominates my wrist time.

LOVE THAT ONE!!

The rose gold day date with the chocolate dial "pops" more in my opinion.

At 76 I wear a 15007. I had a 36mm DD in WG but sold it after a year. I have found that as I count the years my tastes have evolved.
