Which combo - Need advice

Need advice on combo

I have been offered by AD on the possible choices:

Option A - 5524r + 5980a or

Option B - 5235r + 5164a

Option A is attractive to me as both are fairly iconic pieces. However, 5524r may be a hurdle as I prefer low key white gold or SS for travel timepieces as they are less flashy.

Option B is good as 5164a fits into my requirement well. 5235 however is less popular but I must say is a unique piece given the regulator dial.

Would like the hear the views of everyone here.

BTW, I currently have a 5146g, Omega DSOM nd a VC Traditionelle

Is the 5980/1A pre-owned or is the AD offering a 5980/1AR or 5980/1R? 5980/1A has been discontinued ~ 5years.

Unless you are getting the 5980/1A, option A is heavy on RG. And as you mentioned, you prefer WG.

Option B
By your own admission, the 5164 makes more sense than the 5524, and the 5235 makes a good contrast against the somewhat sombre and lower-key Aquanaut.

Ultimately it is a question of which do you like better - the 5164A or the 5968A?

The 5164A is a practical travel time you can use if you travel a lot. As for the 5968A, it is an interesting piece, but do you like it? Have you seen either in person?

As for the 5524R vs 5235R, it is a toss up, although like you said, the 5235 is a different watch with a special movement made specifically for the regulator.
