Water resistant with unscrewed crown?

I've read that having the Crown unscrewed on your rolex while washing is not good but is this true for the newer model rolexes?

I have the newer model datejust 126234 and was wondering if this ever would be a concern or if rolex added some more protection in the event the Crown isn't screwed in while its in and around water?

Supposedly the water resistant rating still holds even if the crown is unscrewed

As long as you don’t try to change the time under water

Should be fine. It's still sealed and not under pressure.

. . .
A newer Rolex will have relatively new gaskets, and seals and the construction of Twin-loc and Trip -loc crowns is the same as it has been for decades.

Generally speaking, water will not get past the O-rings in the tube that seal around the stem; it is not an open hole to the inside of the case.

The problem with an unscrewed crown in the water, would be lateral deformation, or pressing sideways on the crown, which may deform the O-Ring, allowing water slip past along the stem.

Unless the seals are shot, just being unscrewed is not likely to be an issue.
