I have almost an 8 inch wrist circumference. So 36mm is out. Voted 41mm

I couldn't agree with you more about it being a matter of preference relating to wrist size and comfort. For me the larger size is more commanding in appearance but for me, with a 6.5 in wrist, it would looked like I was trying too hard. I had a DJII and it had that appearance imho. For me the 36mm is the perfect size, Perfectly proportioned to my wrist and perfectly comfortable as well.
