If you really want a 16710 and you're NOT a collector, my advice would be to purchase the cheapest one you can find without box n papers. It will probably be pretty beat up but you can send it off to one of RSC for an overhaul. You will get back an almost new version for less than $10k all in. That's what I did.

Hi, Where would you source one, pls? Thanks

I bought a 16710 with an all black bezel from Bernard’s Watch in May for 10k. Box but no papers. The watch was and is in truly like-new shape. I then picked up a Coke insert from Rolex for $150. I would suggest looking for the black bezel version. It tends to be priced lower than the Pepsi and Coke versions. Also, don’t overpay for box and papers. What’s important is dealing with a reputable seller.
Hi Bernard’s Watch reputable? Thanks

Glad someone said this. I bought my 16710 without box & papers back in April from a very reputable dealer (Crown & Caliber). First time I've ever bought a watch without box & papers so I was hesitant, but the price difference with papers was ridiculous so I pulled the trigger.

Few months later they have appreciated tremendously and I couldn't care less about the papers. I will be sending it off to RSC at some point

Much much rather have a 3185

You have to search, you have to do your homework. I found mine on Chrono24 and it happened to be a local jeweler. I went to see it, agreed on a price and the rest is history. Keep in mind you don't have to buy one with the bezel you want. When you send it in for service you can change it to the bezel you desire. That's the beauty of this reference.

Before I purchased the one I did, I saw on Chrono24 a really beat up Coke bezel 16710 from a seller in Miami. The bezel and the insert looked it it was dragged by a bike or a car. They wanted $8750, got them down to $8200 but I still thought it was too much. I could've bought it bc sending it to RSC for a full service, bezel & bezel insert replacement would've cost about $1300. For $9500 it's basically a new 16710. Can't beat that.

Unless you're a collector I don't get why original box n papers is so important. I sent mine in for service and got back a warranty card. Almost as good as the original papers in my opinion. It proves it's authenticity and it proves the watch is working to spec. Not to mention you get back an almost new watch.

Price is high, but not outlandish. This is a very reputable dealer, and looks to me like a good example overall, but I agree that the clasp looks a bit over-polished. The fact that there are some small dings/nicks visible (under lens magnification/lighting), reinforces a bit for me that the case hasn’t been over-polished. Depends on your tastes ultimately. You can do better shopping around, some good advice on previous posts, just buy from trusted seller/source.

My experience with them has been very good. The watch was in pristine shape. When I received it, it was running fast - like +10 a day. They sent me a shipping label, got the watch regulated and sent it back. It’s been running very well ever since.
For me the most important thing was the condition of the watch. It was advertised ‘as new’, and it truly was.
They have a lot of good feedback on Yelp, and they sell a lot on Chrono24. Not so much on the watch forums.
Hope this helps
