In the mid nineties in Dubai there was a guy by the name of Salman - he was creating some fantastic “blink” work in after market bracelets ...he was charging around $4000 ...these were great for night club entertainers - also the myriad pave diamond dial and the diamond bezel....the price you paid is in line with aftermarket set diamonds
If..Rolex factory Original (?) ....price would have been $80.000 plus
I hope you find that are Factory Original

I actually got it for 13500us or 20k aus.
Still a lot of work and watch for the money a good but either way original would be a bonus.

Your not understanding rolex. This model does not ever come with a diamond bezel or that band. The reference numbers mean something on rolex, it would have a number to reflect a diamond bezel if it was its original set up. Not possible unless a dodger dealer and I doubt that if he was as ad. If it was a a second hand dealer that’s different.

It doesn't make sense though I have a day-date 18238 with a serial number on the certificate and the watch what determines if it's a plain champagne dial or a diamond dial with baguettes nothing! how do you determine then if that is a factory diamond dial or aftermarket the invoice has nothing about it coming like that

The bezel has a reference number ( the second last number of the model). This band was never made only two types of men’s diamond bracelets town collection and octopus’s style earlier. Some dials are for crown collection models only from the factory.

There is a ladies version of this watch on ebay at the moment, right down to the same stamp on the papers.

Ladies has different options as they do not have day dates, similar dial available in a men’s day date
but not Men’s Datejust at the time
