Fantastic. Everytime I see a black Daytona-C it makes me reconsider my thoughts on the white model. The black is just really slick looking

Congrats, mine showed up too. I'm guessing rolex sent out a batch to the US this past week, cause another friend of mine got the call too.

My AD, a boutique, has only been open a bit longer than that but I have known my SA around 22 years from his prior AD. People here dismiss the "power" of the SA but they carry lots of weight here.
They do keep lists for in demand models. It can probably be fluid but they tell you where you are and try to keep them at a number they can fulfill within two years.
In early 2018 I mentioned wanting a Daytona and he told me the list was closed until they got it down some. I asked again in February this year, he said okay and that I was #14 for a black dial. I would go visit at least once a month and he would tell me the progress, sometimes with the manager standing there. 17 days ago he told me I was #2 and that they expected 6 more Daytonas before year's end. And now it's here.
I am not a whale but I do have a long purchase history with my SA and he knows it's likely I'll keep buying more over time.
I get so sick of hearing all the unsubstantiated BS here about the "evil dealers" and all the crapola associated with that.
In today's market it certainly helps to have history. And although big dealers have lots of customers they also get lots of pieces. My dealer has delivered 50+ BLRO's since they came out. They will have delivered close to 30 SS Daytonas this year. Be nice and see where it gets you.
Very true. And congrats

Great choice. I also prefer the black dial to the white dial version. Much cleaner look and the sub-dials are more legible.
