Question on AC Date/Month Display
This is probably a dumb question with an obvious answer, but I'll ask anyway.
You know how the Date, Day, and Month are digitally displayed on an AC like the 5205? Well, what is it called when this information is displayed radially on the subdials? Is it an analog display or some other term? I personally prefer the digital displays as the other ones are hard for me to read at a glance. But I may be in the minority. Thanks in advance. |

According to Patek website, it is “aperture” for the window layout (5205) and “by hand” for the subdial layout (5146)

They consists of individual wheel for date, day and month. See below screenshot from Patek website. The aperture will just show a particular point in time for each wheel as it rotates.
