Sub Nickname?

Does the TT 16613 have a nickname? I’ve seen a couple in the wild, both had champagne dial, not my flavor but a great looking piece nonetheless...anyways, just curious.

Funny, you’d have thought once it had some “time to dry” it would’ve been plenty sticky.

Yes, Serti dial. It can be a Serti Champagne or Serti Slate dial.

"Taken from the French word “sertir” which means “to set” in the context of jewelry making, when Rolex uses the term “Serti” dial, they are often referring to any of their gem-encrusted dials across several collections, whether it's the Datejust, President, Pearlmaster, or others."

Serti is a description for all set-stone models.

The Golden Shower was what this particular ref# was widely known as.

The Rolex paperwork. This isn’t a joke because some regular TT Subs can be swiftly converted using an aftermarket dial.

‘The numerical value of serti in Pythagorean Numerology is: 8’ What’s this got to do with a Rolex and how is this better than the Golden Shower? The watch looks golden!?

I don’t know why the name changed in the 80s.

I think different markets have used different dial names for essentially the same dial. Here is a later example using bezel set.
