Help Needed - 39mm Explorer vs 41mm DJ size difference
Hi All,
I read in a few threads that the measurement of 41mm DJs (126334) is actually around 39.5mm? Is this true? If that’s the case, they are about the same as 39mm Explorers (214270) assuming those are actually sized as advertised. Anyone with both or have knowledge of the actual sizing differences between the two? Thank you in advance! Jon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The explorer is a tad longer lug to lug. For wideness the datejust 41 is a tad wider.
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=558204 Datejust 41 is 39.52mm excluding the crown.

I think any rolex without a “sports” bezel wears pretty big for its case measurement honestly.
I’m used to wearing a modern sub/gmt case, but the OP39 feels huge to me and I much prefer an OP36. |

214270 owner that has tried on the DJ41 a couple of times. I’ve not really noticed any tangible size difference between the two. I continue to be baffled by those who claim the six digit Explorer & Datejust are “huge.” I have under a 6.75” wrist, come from a history of wearing a 36mm watch, and that’s not my assessment at all.

I don’t see actual measurements in the thread you provided, and also don’t have a caliber to measure my own Exp1. Do you by any chance have the actual measurements somewhere? I wander if it’s also undersized vs the advertised 39mm... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I agree. I have a 6.5” wrist and I always felt the 36mm Exp1 was a tad small. Perhaps it was the light weight that bugged me, but 39mm wears much better to my liking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have both and to me they wear pretty much the same. The DJ actually feels a little smaller to me because I have it on the jubilee bracelet, which is much lighter than the oyster bracelet on the Explorer.

Thank you for the input! I was afraid DJ41 would be bigger. Do you buy any chance have a pic of both side by side? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Owned both, no difference in how they feel assuming both are on Oyster bracelet. I feel like Rolex may even use the same case on these models, only difference is the 41 case is polished all over.

The DJ does look a tad wider. IMO the 39mm Explorer & OP are perfect. The DJ should have been 38mm & that would have been a perfect dress watch.

I have both, the DJ41 is on a Jubilee. I feel they both wear about the same. If I compare them both, the DJ41 is slightly bigger lug-to-lug but not so much that it makes a big difference. After you have been wearing them for a while it just doesn't make a difference. I too thought 'is the DJ41 too big? The Exp 1 is really a great size.' But I was just over analyzing the situation. I love both watches. Don't over analyze it.

Explorer1 and the DJ41 wear the same. E1 wears big.
OP39 wears smaller than these two.
