I adjust the instrution a little. Light source from edge of bezel at 1 o'clock and view from 4 o'clock.
I took some picture and LEC is viewable with naked eyes.

Pix of the crown on my SD 4000.

Olympus biological microscope at x100.

The molten micro bubbles of sapphire glass are about half way through the crystal. There are 152 bubbles on this crown.

The bubbles came mainly into focus on the same plane so are not staggered in a noticeable a 3D pattern.

Finally managed to find the LEC on my DSSD
It is the blob at about 39 mins
