My advice for the brand is to buy what you like. Many people out there will tell you that you have to have one watch or another, but stick to your tastes. Patek has a good breadth of dress, complications, and sports lineups. I'd recommend dabbling in all of them!

X2 or on any watch

i agree....well maybe not to the extent of the gouge. the way i look at T stamped PPs is as a reward for people who have spent a lot on diamonds and stuff at T. they get a T stamped PP to recuperate some of their spendings when they flip the PP - typically to another flipper who thinks he will still make money out of it. i just wonder who is at the tail end of that food chain. a T fanboy? no, can't be:::)))

Great marketing....they convince you it's rare. Lets presume PP make a LE of 2 watches. One goes to T and the other to a small UK AD that has various royal warrants. The T will be at a premium as there are fewer????? My AD sells fewer watches than T...why isnt that at a premium?

the T stamp remains a total mystery to me. but good for those who make money from the hype.

I pulled the trigger on the blue dial 5205G over the Christmas holiday (the AD ended up offering me a BLNR a few minutes after I paid for it, yay for AD relationships). It happens to be my first PP, and I really like it. Noticed some surprising finishing blemishes when I took a loupe to it, but I guess they can't all be Dufours or the like

The most notable one was the day/night indicator hand, the white paint near the base was surprisingly inhomogeneous. I would be happy to email you a picture I took, since I am unable to post pictures here until I hit 10 posts :/. Don't get me wrong, all watches will have their imperfections magnified with a loupe (just look at the Watchfinder vids), I was just a little taken back that I found this particular one so quickly. May have to do with the nature of painting very tiny objects.

This is still a great piece and I do think the OP should get it if he likes it.
