X2. It’s a luxury purchase, meaning you have enough money already saved for emergencies so $10k should be “couch cushion” money to purchase in proper “luxury” context.

A storm is always potentially around the corner. I would only ever buy a luxury item if I could ride out the potential storm. Being in a storm is no different to me than having a potential storm around the corner. So I don’t anticipate the current storm impacting my luxury goods purchasing in any way. Hope that helps!

It's a situational issue rather than a funds issue.
I'm a ER doc and I'm seeing lots of people that are presumptively positive (very limited testing).
If the trend continues , just from repeat exposures there is a better than average change that I may contract it - while it pains me to pass it up. I did :(

There will be more, I can always get it later... maybe the upgraded version

Take care of yourself.

There will be plenty of opportunities for new watches in your future!

I would say that if you're questioning this, you should trust your instincts and probably decline. There'll be other opportunities.

Get it if you can afford to. A sub at retail is always a safe buy imo. Worst case scenario if you need to turn it back into cash, it should be an easy break even.

Great LEADERSHIP demonstrating to others how to lead in times of crisis. No greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for a friend. In this case, making small sacrifices for the benefit of your employees. Nicely done.

I would hold .. rather than buy something now half heartedly with many contrasting thoughts & doubts this period , much better to get it once all these boils over & when situation starts improving. Probably need to pay little more if you wait till than, but don’t think i would mind if I know precisely the situation will improve (Vaccine’s out & income stream:employment is stable). What better way to celebrate the recovery with a new Rolex .

Buy the watch!
Don’t get caught in the covid 19 trap.
Life will return to normal but you don’t get a call for the sub daily!

Nobody knows how deep your pockets are and I don’t think it is our business.

Do you 100% control the faith of your income and are you sure it will remain as is for the foreseeable future ?

If so, go for it. If not, well, you know the answer.

I’m self employed, semi-retired and just today I got a call from my property manager, two of my tenants want to break the lease and move in with family because they lost their jobs. Who am I to say no or pursue legal action at a time like this ?

The world is crazy unpredictable right now.

Unless you're a doctor specialising in virology, the coming weeks will test anyone's definition of "stable income". This is not like the financial crush or 9/11...it may not last as long as the post 2008 crisis and hopefully the economy worldwide will recover swiftly but there are too many unknowns in this whole thing. I personally won't buy anything "luxury" - more so for something as "pedestrian" as a bloody Sub - until I see tangible signs of stabilization along with a long-term solution (read vaccine). If that does not happen in the next few weeks, you'd likely get ADs lining up to beg for your business - and paying retail will be a thing of the past real quick.

From the perspective of the global economy not buying the piece is EXACTLY what you should not be doing. The more people pull the laces on their spendings the worse the situation gets. So in our common interest is that you go and buy the Sub. All the luck!

The majority of us buy a watch to commemorate an event or achievement. Commemorating this unprecedented pandemic with a watch would be so special once it’s over.
I would go for it.
