Rolex at Baselworld 2020 by Jenni E.

I hope that her predictions will prove right. Especially, the Blue Submariner looks nice:

I used to think Rolex would never release a blue SS Sub, but after what they did with the Pepsi anything is possible

The Pepsi wasn’t a new concept though. It’s basically a re-release of an old model. AFAIK there has never been a blue SS sub - but you never know. Sounds more like something Tudor would do with the BB58 imo.

How many years long do you think the waitlist would be for a SS Blue Sub?

sales on the smurf and bluesy will take a huge hit if they release a blue dial on SS, pretty sure Rolex thought about that. now, a full YG hulk version is more likely to happen as Rolex makes better margins from precious metal watches than SS.

I’m in love. Guess I’ll be standing in line with the masses if an SS Smurf Sub is released.

Black GMT on Jubilee
Coke GMT in WG (If they can get the mix right with black and red on the ceramic.
126610 Subs with 3235 and small differences on the case where you would need loupes to see the difference.

Blue ss Sub,YG Hulkie ...nope .

Is there any word on whether or not Rolex will release anything online for 2020?

Honestly I could see the PM hulk being released, makes sense. Also the predictions fail to showcase some type of out of the ordinary release as we've seen the past 3 baselworlds. 2017-sd43, 2018-pepsi, 2019-YM42/2 tone sea dweller.

Someone with some good ideas. Unfortunately, Baselworld was cancelled. However, I do like the blue Submariner.

Hah... judging by the ceramic Daytona, a SS blue Sub in the gray market could go for the price of a Smurf at retail!

Blue Sub has been suggested by several others a few months ago.

Will there be any news/changes in 2020 that is announced or will there just be nothing done to the lineup until 2021? Not sure how Rolex will choose to go with any press releases without that venue. Curious to see how the different brands choose to roll out the plans for 2020.

If every year someone say that will be released the black/red GMT coke....for sure it will happen that someone will be right...the problem is that now 10year have been passed since the first predictions...we might be closer to realize the dream...but keep on saying...once maybe you’ll be right...it’s a just matter of statistic...

Yeah, would imagine the WG Smurf would be less attractive if a SS version came out. At least on the Pepsi they changed the bracelet to differentiate.

What if it was with a sunburst blue dial to differentiate?

I’d be all over that one myself.

For many people who prefer the sunburst dial, that would be awesome. However it would give even more incentive for people to buy the cheaper stainless steel model over the white gold. Not sure why Rolex would want to do this?

In the past I’d say no but after the SS BLRO I wouldn’t be completely surprised. Perhaps just to switch the lineup up. If so could be interesting with a SS Smurf, TT Hulk and YG Hulk replacing the current line. And a greater demand in SS means Rolex can slow drip the SS while pushing demand up the model range to the PM models.
