“John Mayer Desk Clock Trick”

Howdy everyone!

Just bored in the office and decided to try to turn my Datejust into a desk clock like John Mayer says he likes to do with his IWC Big Pilot.

It works!

And looks kinda cool too

Just make sure you don’t drop it, I don’t want to see another “my watch hit ceramic flooring thread”

I enjoy doing this at the home office. Plenty of time spent there as of late. As you’d expect

I was doing that with my watches before John Mayer was born.

Surely, someone did it before I was born.

This is good for limited time periods (timing a meeting or what not). But the watch isn't winding like this so it needs to go back on the wrist for those runs to the bathroom/coffee/stairs/etc.

Me too. I try to stay busy and it works most is the time, but every now and again, it’s gets boring out here

Be safe!

Haha I’m sure.

Now that the yellow gold green dial Daytona is called the John Mayer Daytona, I figured why not call this the John Mayer Desk Clock Trick

But yes, I’m sure it’s nothing new

I'm impressed that no scratch police has emerged yet ! :Chuckle:

Nice Datejust. It's very neat when you cannot chose your timepiece in the morning. Pick one desk clock and a wrist watch and bam you can have an awesome rotation !

Hahaha, I actually do that a lot.
I don't like to type on the computer with a watch around the wrist, so when at the desk it's usually standing at attention as you displayed it.

Yeah, right, my watches stay on my wrist unless they're in secure storage at home. All I need is to get up and leave it at my work desk never to be seen again.

I think you can do what you want with your watch. Mine stays on my wrist so not to be damaged or forgotten.

Thank you :)

Haha good idea!

You know I used to be a member of the scratch police, but as many members of the forum said, once you get a scratch more and more keep coming

Now I admire them

(The scratches)

You’re right. Specially that one!

Very good point to be honest. Yesterday I was working on my car.

Took off my watch and set it by the wiper blades.

Darn it! I nearly forgot it was there!

Imagine I would’ve taken off for a test drive
