Submariner 116610 too big for me?

So I'm about to pull the trigger on a 116610LN through a trusted seller online.
Obviously, given the climate, I have been unable to try on a Submariner ceramic.
I currently have a 116710LN, and assumed that the Sub has exactly the same case size and wears the same.

However, upon further research, I read that the lugs and crown guards are slightly bigger and add a bit of bulk to the case in comparison to the GMT, and that the case back is thicker so it sits higher on the wrist.

I have very skinny girly wrists at 6.25inches, and although I can just about pull off the GMT, I'm now having doubts about the Sub given what I've found out about it.
Part of me thinks that the glidelock will enable me to get as perfect fit, so it should be comfortable on my wrist so it doesn't become top heavy.
Does anyone find their Sub top heavy?

Also, I was searching for pics of Subs on skinny wrists, and came across this on Chrono24. I have very similar looking wrists to this wearer.
My question is, do you think that the Sub is too big for a wrist this size?

It looks good, give it a try for a week or two. I have a small wrist too, two 36 DJs, didn't wear any for maybe 2 years (wife is wearing them mostly), n when I put it on like 2 months ago, I feel like the watch shrunken, which is off course impossible. Now my Sub is more fit in my eyes, while the DJs look too small, especially compare to Panerais.
What others wear around you will affect/ change ur preference.

These close up wrist pics always negatively distort the look of a watch on a wrist. Try a similar close up of your 116710 and it should clear up any worries you have.

I have a 6.25 wrist size and my 116610 looks nothing like that. Too big or too small is very subjective but you’ll find a general consensus that if the lugs hang over the flat portion of your wrist then it’s perhaps “too big.”

Wrist shape and lug overhang trumps all others in determining this. However, wear whatever you like. Trends are set by those who are confident in their action no matter what the current popular opinion states.

Carefully analyzing published lug-to-lug dimensions against your wrist width makes all the difference. IMHO, my 114060 doesn’t wear any larger than a 126710 GMT. I do notice the slightly lower stack of the GMT, however. I’d be surprised if the lug-to-lug dimension varied between the sub and GMT.

I have a 6.5" wrist and I think the Sub is the max Rolex I would wear. Keep in mind, the clasp on the Sub is longer because of the Glidelock. It covers move of the underside of my wrist

If you take a close pic like that it will always look big I guess. I'd say try again at a distance.

If you are happy with the GMT, you’ll be happy with the Sub.

As for that online photo, remember that wrist shapes differ, so circumference won’t tell you everything. Also, angle and camera position can play tricks. Finally, where on the wrist one wears the watch can influence perceived size in photos.

Looks like giant bar with your arm strapped underneath. I'd be concerned about staying on the ground. Don't do the two watches at once thing whatever you do.

That pic makes it look gigantic on that wrist, but it could partially be the photo distorting it.

I do have a rubber b on so I’m not sure if it makes it look smaller.
It looks to me that the wrist in your picture is a lot smaller than 6.25

Also, check out WatchBox’s Tim Mosso. His wrist are about 6 1/3. If I see a watch that wears well for him then I know I’ll be good to go.

Looks big in pics but my pics do too. I wear my watch maybe a little high compared to most I wear it slightly above wrist bone and DO NOT like it to slide past it toward my hand. I have 4 links per side side and in pics I feel looks a touch big but in person not at all. I live in it wear it all the time literally all the time no joke.

About your wrist size and it’s just at the bounds of too big. Honestly some days I think it is and some days it’s totally fine. In the mirror it even looks small sometimes, it’s weird how angles can distort so much. If your GMT is fine I’d say go for it

That looks like someone pulled a pic off the internet and photoshopped it into the picture. I can’t imagine it looks that huge from another person’s perspective. It has to be the camera making it look that large.

Can you stand next to a mirror, let your arm hang a bit more naturally, and snap a pic? I bet it will look much more proportional to your wrist.

Thought same thing. Looks better on my wife’s 2 inch wrists than the wrist in that pic lol (don’t actually know her size but tiny).

I think you are right about the rubber - on a bracelet I would say the watch would look too big on you - it would give it more heft. Even on rubber it is touch and go, and some angles would be worse than others.

On the OP - as others have noted, if the lugs span more than the width of the wrist, that's a red flag.

Honestly, yes. I have small wrists too, which is why I stay away from modern sports pieces. The only modern Rolex I have is 34mm.

If you're fine with the GMT you'll be fine with the Sub. Don't worry about the Size Police (it's a bit of a hot-button topic for some), especially when the reference here is a huge, up-close photo of someone else's wrist - some people seem to have missed this.
I've owned both of these watches and the only real difference is the Sub's caseback, and that just means that it sits a tad bit higher. If you are still unsure, perhaps look for some video reviews or photos that are taken from a more realistic perspective.

In my experience, close up pics aren't a good indicator. Watches always look bigger.

I have a 6.3" wrist. Here is a SD43 vs a 38mm Zenith. Look about the same size depending on the angle/pic:

My wrists are about 6.3 inches. A sub fits just fine. Frankly, I like how much wrist presence the Sub has on me and am glad I have a 40mm versus a 36mm.
