Keep the faith OP. You have chosen well but some patience is needed to get these fine pieces from the AD at MSRP. You should expect a BLNR to arrive quicker than a Blue SkyD but sometimes it doesn’t work that way.
Some folk have nicknamed “Batman” after the Oyster bracelet version, which is no longer available, and “Batgirl” after the Jubilee that is the current version. I don’t really care to get in to that, frankly both are very nice BLNR GMTs. The SkyD, while fantastic, is a big watch. I agree with common sentiment that it works better with a 7”+ wrist (for reference I'm 7 1/4"). That’s not an exclusive rule though and many will wear it on smaller wrists. Anyway, something to keep you going… about 12 months on the SkyD, 6 months on the BLNR. |

I've emailed my AD again, but due to Covid, they are on furlough so therefore no access to their emails. Here's hoping they reply when they're back in work! Although, if they came and said they have both but must be sold together.. that would be one big decision haha! I'd have to do it regardless haha - I can always save up some savings again I guess!

I put my name down for a Sub date 2.5 years ago, still waiting, opened up options recently to also a SD43 or Sub non date but put my name down to 3 AD’s namely WOS and Goldsmiths but someone on the forum advises that as I’ve done that I will be removed, time will tell I suppose.

I’m here to tell unicorns do exist. Receiving allocations first off between the USA and the UK market are totally different, Heard stories here in the TRF of our friends across the water in USA acquiring some exclusive watches a lot of quicker than here.
I myself after BaselWorld 2017 immediately called 2 AD’s in London to get my name in the mix for a SS SkyD blue dial. Neither of the stores I had a purchase history with, one of the stores my pal put me in touch with after acquiring a hulk in 2016 I believe. Branch 1 I had no previous history with them at all aside from having a lengthy chat with them when a friend of mine was collecting a watch he had made a claim on for insurance. This branch forever and a day would tell me I was top of the list from the day it was on unveiled. Alas I’m still waiting Branch 2 my other pal bought a hulk from, I had my name down on the list for the hulk myself and a deposit with them. I transferred my interest to the blue SkyD less than an hour after it was unveiled. Some months had passed and then I was offered the hulk but then expressed to the AD that I thought we had transferred my interest over to the blue SkyD. At this point I was worried it was never transferred at all. Subsequently made another deposit to make up the difference in percentage down for the sky dweller. A year had passed and I was so close to getting my money back and even went in store to do it. Another guy in store who I haven’t been dealing with told me I assure you sir if you have made a deposit you will get a watch so opted not to pull the plug. On this visit I was told I was about fourth or fifth in line. Several weeks or two months later I believe (16 months in total) I finally got that call. I dropped everything immediately and alas living proof a SkyD blue dial can be had with no previous history. Long story short it really is a game of luck and dependent upon how much you are liked with that authorised dealer. Miracles do happen and I do hope you are one to experience that |
