Trilogy Speedmaster

I have the Apollo 11 50th Speedmaster but like smaller diameter watches. I’m on the list for the Ed White 321, but who knows about that?

Anyone have perspective on the Trilogy Speedmaster? It seems to check a lot of boxes. Is it too thick for the diameter? I prefer it to the FOIS given the bracelet/strap versatility.

I find the 39mm wear thicker and a bit longer across the wrist. Something to consider. Also, I actually think the only difference is the crown guards so the watch dial etc is the same - sure someone will tell me I’m wrong but I think that’s largely correct.

I don’t find it too thick, and it has a Hesalite crystal which IMHO commends it over the FOIS. The bracelet was great when I first bought it, but since the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary was released, I now realise how what might have been. Hopefully the new Ed White homage will give us an alternative bracelet that we can fit.

This is one of my favorite Speedmaster of all time, I’m also on the list of the new Ed White as well.

Yes, that bracelet has shown what can be done. Nice and light with a good taper would look absolutely fabulous on the trilogy.

Not thick @ all...wears like other Speedmaster variations and it's the original 1957 design with the straight lugs. It actually wears small and flies under the radar from my observations. Love the entire trilogy, great piece of history they revived.

For the record I didn’t say it was thick. More that it wore slightly thicker on my wrist. Whether that’s visual or a fact I don’t know but I’ve felt it with all the straight lug speedies. I’m wearing an Apollo 11 as we speak and that wears a lot flatter to the wrist for me. Maybe the caseback sits flatter for me on the 42mm. It’s not huge differences, just my perspective.

The Trilogy Speedmaster is absolutely fine in terms of thickness, it's certainly no thicker than a Speedmaster Professional and is a great under the radar watch. The bracelet looks fantastic but in replicating the look of the original bracelet, it doesn't taper. I personally don't like the bulky wide clasp and find it uncomfortable, so I wear mine on a variety of leather straps. As the new 321 has a tapered bracelet, I suspect it will be super comfortable.

I had the trilogy speedy for a while and it’s a great watch; don’t think you’ll find the size troublesome.

I actually traded for a FOIS eventually but only because the "fauxtina" started to bother me after a while.
