The DD40 has gone UP in value much like the SkyDs as well.

Got my YG DD40 BNIB from a gray dealer for $27k and my RG DD40 from a gray dealer for $28k BNIB.

Those prices are very hard to get now. Especially any RG piece (doesnt matter the dial color) your looking at $32k+ plus now. If you want the Olive or Choco your going to pay extra as well.

OP, what is your reason for getting rid of your DJII? Bracelet aside, The DD2 wears pretty much exactly the same. I own both DD2 and DD40, and the only reason I picked up the DD40 was the Rose/Olive combination. The DD2 wears more like a sports watch with the wider lugs and bezel. The DD40 wears more dressier and proportions a bit more refined. There is nothing noticeable with the new movement, except the power reserve being longer. If you enjoy the size of the SkyD, the DD2 is the one to get.

In my experience over past 20 yrs. nor AD ever lowered the price of a new Rolex.

If you go to the secondary market, any economic calamity that would depress DD40 values would also cause you to pause before parting with the price - no matter the level to which it dropped.

Whatever your decision, the luxe goods prices aren’t dropping even in this pandemic.

Day-Date 40 is the best one ever made.

The DD2 looks out of proportion, and the 36 is too small.

Agreed, a full gold Sky-D might be the better option. The rose with rhodium is amazing.

DDII for your wrist if you really want a Day-Date.
