I think the "out of the blue" is a clever misdirection, getting everyone focused on the literal blue while a red bezel no date sub would personify the metaphorical. The Black bay was a trial run. That's my guess.

My ad speculates it will be a black dial and blue bezel combo which would disappoint me. They doubt it will be all blue otherwise it would disrupt the WG version.

I want to be enthusiastic about it. I’ve loved the brand’s history and the models in the current (and recent) lineup make me want to buy.

Perhaps when this detestable stupidity ends, a Rolex reveal might conjure a bit more genuine excitement. Until then, it’s like an art gallery opening. You can look, but not touch.

most interested in the new movement. what will be new? materials? design? will it be an evolutionary change or a new design from the ground up? there might be answers to these questions already but I'm not paying that close attention. But that's the most interesting thing to me. cosmetic changes like colors and suchlike are meh to me.
