Rolex Sales Data

Did some analysis on Rolex Sales Sub-forum and thought some of you might find the information interesting.

-Reviewed 5,000 recently posted "For Sale" Rolex Threads

-Found 170 Confirmed SOLD Threads

- Histogram below shows the 30 most common words found in the listing of a successfully sold watch

Key Findings

-People like complete Sets. Remember to save everything the AD gives you with your new purchase!

- People really like their dials! Makes sense since its the artsy part of a watch.

- People like their warranties!

I hope this information helps those who like to change watches every once in a while, might help in getting top dollar for your watch when you decide to sell it.

Because you deserve acknowledgement for this. Thanks for sharing.

Any chance you captured data on the highest to lowest selling models, and sold:listed?

No pressure, but thought it'd be interesting to know of the thousands of watches listed here, which models have gotten listed and/or sold the most, say in the last 6-12 months, or so.

Yes your have to be very confident to sell a watch on this forum. The attention to detail over the smallest of oddities would be frightening.

Very interesting work, but... I'm wondering if you need a new hobby. I'm thinking your day job is... data analyst.

Seriously, nice work.

Not a great % of success, unless the transactions are completed offline?

I do not think when sold, the for sale thread is marked as such.. some sellers do, many don’t is my thought. I could be wrong

So out of the 5000 threads I quickly grabbed the ones that had “sold”
In the title. I assume I missed a ton more.
