Rolex Pepsi GMT or Tag Heuer Calibre 7 Pepsi GMT

I am in awe at the quality of their current lineup, especially given the price point. I ended up getting the blue 41mm Aquaracer a few months ago and am regularly struck by the beautiful blue dial (inspired by the wooden deck of a ship, similar to the OMEGA Aqua Terra) and the blue ceramic bezel. Whoever is doing design work at TAG needs a pay raise.

One thing is for sure, TAG’s GMT knocks the Tudor Black Bay GMT out cold, given the Tudor’s chunkier case and its date issues. People needlessly rag on Selitta and ETA movements, but they’re elegant Swiss workhorses that “just work” and get the job done.

That’s a REALLY good looking dial, in my opinion. I’ve got an Aquaracer, black dial, 43mm quartz that my girlfriend got me for my birthday last year and I love it. It really started me down the watch rabbit hole and I don’t ever want to part with it. I think there is plenty of room in a collection for Tag and Rolex (and others) to coexist. Love Rolex too and currently have an OP36 pink dial on order for my girlfriend. I also hope to own a Hulk, new Sub, Sky-Dweller, and GMT Master II in the future. All great watches and all serve different purposes at different price points.

The one thing I’m not too fond of on that blue-dialed Aquaracer is the cyclops. It’s not that it doesn’t look good, I just don’t like seeing a cyclops on anything but a Rolex.

My Tag is on rubber and is very comfortable. I don’t know much about the bracelet or clasp that they equip the Aquaracer with.

If you travel a lot, the rolex GMT is very convenient.
The 24 hour hand is the reference (home) hour, and you just set the small hour to the local time of the new destination.

With the Tag heuer, it is the opposite. It is convenient if you do not travel but need to know the time in another country

I really like Heuer but prefer their original designs with Motorsport pedigree like Monaco, Autavia, etc.
If I wanted a look alike, would probably go for the Seiko version at a few hundred bucks.

totally get your choice. Tag makes a great watch and at a great price. My first instinct is to go for the Rollie but kudos on your choice

Which is one of the reasons I bought mine. It doesn't look like any other GMT watch. Neither do any of the other GMT watches I own, including my Polar and CHNR.
