Price Increase in 2021 (UK)
Popped into the local AD and was told the usual, there is the high possibility of a price increase in January, what are peoples thoughts?
The sub's, GMT's and all other new releases saw price increases this year i think the OP.s did too? If so what's everyone's thoughts, will the rest of the line up go in line with the current price increases or their may even be a double increase on the already increased ones and a general price increase across the entire range? On a side note, Rolex price increases seem to be a little more aggressive now and annually as opposed to the every 12-24 months many years ago.

I asked the same question a week ago. I have a feeling prices will go up but I can't guess by how much.

As I understand it Omega have already increased prices this year so I would be surprised if Rolex did not follow. Especially with demand for their watches remaining so high.

Didn't they increase the prices when the new models came out?

If they increase again (twice in a year) in the current global circumstances that would be totally taking the piss

I'm not too sure if they increased the entire range this year in the UK or just the new releases? Can anyone confirm?
I'm not expecting to buy or be offered anything but generally it would be good to know, my AD advises they literally get emailed a day before.

The only known fact is that value of money keeps decreasing. Therefore, you are going to need to splash more £££ to the table than before

"high possibility" = guess. If a January 2021 UK price increase is coming the ADs and the internet would know about it already, as we all did this time last year.

If UK prices go up in January then ouch!!
A 10% rise (average of 2020 rise) would put the Oyster Perpetual 41 above £5k, thats a big ask as an entry point for a Rolex watch.

Not everyone, I would balk at paying an additional £1400+ for a Sub Date, but you're right for many it wouldn't make any difference.

Rolex UK has risen prices serially in these past years along with several top tier manufacturers to align the prices globally. If I recall correctly it started when the British Pound weaked since the referendum. Who knows maybe when the dust finally settles we get to shop duty free in the EU.

I reckon 10% across the board, except for Day dates that could see a 5% jump.

Given the direction that Sterling has taken I’d say it’s a certainty.

If Sub being 20% extra would mean one could get one with a small waitlist or none at all, trust me, people would be buying them up. |

Rolex never let their AD’s know that the prices are going up a month in advance. Not in the U.K. anyway.
As for prices going up it must be a strange scenario for Rolex as they’ve got all these ss sports watches that they could sell 10 times over, as the grey market is getting double the price so they know there’s huge profits for flippers. How much though can they put them up and still keep the same level of demand and interest? By doing nothing they’ve made themselves the most desirable brand in the world by far and they are also selling other models like datejusts and precious metal watches without having to discount them. So it might make sense from Rolexes point of view to do - nothing. Or they could follow Patek and just increase a couple of the models. |

I know service prices and a lot of parts prices are going up, wouldn't surprise me if the new watches will get a price increase as well.
