Price confusion on new OP 124300.

So, Rolex.com has retail at $5,900. Are these really selling for WAY MORE online? 124300 is the 41mm. size.

Confused.

Supply and Demand. Joe Schmoe will not be walking In to a AD to get a OP41.

On gray market, they can sell as much as they want. Some are selling at more than $10k.

If it is ADs, they should sell at MSRP ($5900).

Price confusion on new OP 124300.

An authorized dealer typically sells for the MSRP listed online. It’s their inventory to do as they please if they alter the price.

2nd hand sellers should are also going to sell for whatever price they choose. Typically the market price.

From my understanding it is still Rolex’s inventory to do as Rolex pleases. They set both the minimum and maximum the AD is allowed to sell any new piece. They can also recall their inventory at any time (before retail sale) they please.

No but it’s new and interesting and classic Rolex for 1/2 the price and nearly 1/3 secondary .

I might be slow, but why not just order one from an AD rather than pay 2 to 3K more?

Whatev.

There is no denying an OP is a classic piece and an entry level model. When the OP started to command the markup/list/bundling games, it coincided with my boredom with this sad situation. I do genuinely feel for the many who have saved and waited for their first Rolex and find themselves in this market.

People are impatient and don't want to wait a year for the accessory of the minute.
