V is circa 2008, if the reference chart I use is accurate. FYI, assuming your post is legit, don't post the whole serial number anywhere in the future. You might ask a mod to delete your post or part of it.

Serial numbers are just that, numbers, they don't signify anything else.

Most V serial prefix numbers were sold from late 2008 through 2011 or so.

I thought that's what counterfeiters were always looking for - valid serial numbers.

Counterfeiters likely don't care about anybody's serials; if they wanted a real one they could look at hundreds of them in their own neighborhoods.

It's a Forum phobia about somebody "seeing" theirs.

Then why are they blurred out in the "for sale" section from trusted sellers? Seems like a waste of editing, especially from the experts that have their own sales forum.
