Great review. The Air-King is really growing on me. I just got started in collecting watches. As soon as my gmt II shows up, this may be the next on my list.

Thanks guys! This Air-King has really got med into watch buying mode. I think next on the list will be an Explorer, then maybe an Omega or Panerai after this.

Would you say 34mm is an ok size, or would you prefer it a little bigger if you could?

I tried the 36mm explorer and the new 36mm oyster perpetual, both did not feel as comfortable or look as proportional on me personally compared to the old Air-King. |

Great review. I am looking at getting an air king soon. I too have smaller wrist size and prefer how the 36mm and 34mm wear on the wrist. I also have a 40mm Frederique Constant which I really enjoy but I still prefer the smaller watches.

Great review! I really enjoyed the detail and background you included. I have an air king as well (same model) and found everything you said resonated with my experience.

Fantastic watch, great review and nice blog. Congrats! Keep it up. Always nice to have a site for reviews that is not conflicted with corporate placements.

Fantastic review, Mat. I also have small wrists and for 17 years have loved my SS / Platinum 35mm yachtmaster. As a new member (and even a new lurker) I've noted a lot of strong opinions on 'small' watches now that oversized is the fashion even for women.
I loved that you stressed the comfort and fit of your beautiful watch. After getting a 40mm GMT blnr I've realized that as stunning as it is it's absolutely the largest watch I can wear and that I 'notice it' on my wrist whereas my yachtmaster disappears. I love both and because of the current 'big watch phase' in watch fashion have been pondering selling mine and replacing it with the 40mm version. Your review convinced me to try on a 40 mm beauty but also reminds me how important comfort is. Like you, I've never had anyone comment on the size of my 35mm yachtmaster. It fits dead center and is finely proportioned on my small wrists. I think calling these mid-sized watches 'suitable only for boys' (a comment I've read in other posts about smaller rolexes) misses some of the important points in your excellent review. |

Appreciate the review! I'm starting to get into the Air King and this review was thorough enough to see the pros and cons. Thank you and hope you enjoy your watch.

Enjoyed the review! I'm looking at the new Air King(40mm) vs Explorer I(39mm). They're both beautiful, of course. What are the pros and cons for you guys?
