New GMT Pepsi that almost looks like a Coke

I picked up my new Pepsi from my AD a few days ago on the new oyster bracelet.

On my particular watch, the blue on the bezel is extremely dark and in most lights looks close to black. If it wasn't for the black dial, most people would probably mistake it for black in many light conditions.

I understand the color limitations with ceramic and was aware that Rolex has been darkening the Pepsi bezel over time to try to reduce the pastel look of the colors. I am also aware that there are color variations between batches and likely variations within batches.

I'm not sure how I feel about this particular watch as its almost not a Pepsi but its not a coke either.

Either way, I thought many of the forum members would be interested to see this as another data point along the Rolex road. I have tried to add pics in different lightening conditions and also a comparison with my bat/man/girl.

Interesting. Looks a lot better than previous models that are more purple/pink.

Yes! I concur - the blue on your BLRO is darker than the blue on the BLNR.

I have been waiting for the coke model. No more waiting now. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I love this about it though. If you go out into direct sunlight the blue transforms extremely bright.

looks like a great BLRO to me. mine looks similar (maybe a tad lighter) but really hard to tell as every photo is a little different and every monitor displays color differently.

Nice watch. Congratulations.

I'm hoping mine will turn up before I die of old age. If the colours are like your Coke/Pepsi I will be delighted.

I agree it looks in between. For me, I still prefer the look of the 5 digit pepsi, which is now better exemplified by the Tudor GMT. I am looking forward to the actual ceramic coke whenever they come out with it though.

I think it looks great with dark blue. I would prefer that over lighter blue.

Does beg the argument as to whether they would ever even release a coke now with it being so close.

What a great watch. It's very interesting to see all the many different minor color variations on the BLRO and I think this makes it an even neater model. Congrats!

You can absolutely see the difference in color and font- the newer bezel and oyster bracelet is perfect combo in my opinion.

I understand your point OP, even if I like a darker blue. The BLNR's shade of blue would be perfect, though, as it's close to the original pepsi concept.

x2 my friend. Especially on jubilee. The darker colors suit the oyster fine, though. Ideally one could mix and match. I’m sure Rolex will get right on that!

Thank you to those who have posted well wishes and congrats, it is appreciated.

I just took the following pics in direct sunlight here in Florida with the sun close to 12 overhead. No matter which angle I put the watch at, the bezel looks close to black, while clearly not being black compared to the dial or the bezel of my BLNR.

I did repeat the exercise under a skylight in my house and could get the bezel to show up with a noticeable blue hue. I believe my skylight has some sort of UV film on it which I am guessing is causing the color change compared to direct sunlight. I have noticed a color variation with other watches in the past when comparing direct sunlight to sunlight through my skylight.

I then retook another pic of the watch in direct sunlight at a similar angle as under the skylight for a better comparison.
