I dropped my Daytona and when I start the stopwatch and stop it and try to press the reset button on the bottom right it won't go back to the 12 I have to push down on it really hard and it gradually goes back. It is an old Zenith model from the late 80 it's keeping perfect time though. Any suggestions?

Just like everyone else said, no big deal. All that happened is its just harder to push, it still works so no problems. If its really a bother then get it fixed, or wait till next service to get everything done altogether!

Those pushers are replaceable, although Rolex would probably want to do a service on it..

Sounds like it still works, so I would be inclined to wait until the watch was due for service to have it addressed.

Daytona's cost quite a bit more to service than a standard movement, so unless it really bothers you, I'd wait.

I'm inclined to go with having it fixed.

A chronograph to me is a tool with many uses and if it's not working properly, you've got awfully expensive malfunctioning instrument on your wrist.

I can put up with a lot, but this is something that I'd have to address.

when was it last serviced?

how bad was the drop?

it should not require a lot of effort to push the reset button. i'd suggest you take it to a good watchmaker or RSC to have it checked. you definitely don't want it to become a bigger problem if something has come slightly loose or dislodged from the drop.

My son smacked the bottom pusher on his speedy on a doorframe. You could see through the sapphire back that a small rivet had sheared off where the button connected to the actuating arm and there was also a tiny actuating pin missing.
I'd have it looked at in case there are any small pieces floating around inside just waiting to cause some more damage.

You don’t know what else may have been compromised. I think this is enough of a reason to take it to the RSC. At least for me it would be.

Absolutely get in for a check up! If it was enough to damage the button mechanism, it may have damaged other internal parts.
