Photos are no substitute!
I had a neat experience today- ran into an owner of a 16710LN GMT (black bezel) and came away really impressed. Previously, I would never look twice at photos of the LN version in sale ads or posts here- always Coke or Pepsi. In real life though, the LN is just plain classy and the red GMT hand really pops!
Anyone else dislike a particular piece in photos only to reverse your thinking after seeing one in the flesh? |

A more recent moment like this was trying on the 39mm Cellini date - WG w/ blue dial.
Yachtmaster 40 with the rodium dial was much nicer in person for me too. |

More than a few times it's gone the other way for me! For example, years ago I loved the look of the Daytona in pictures, but after trying one on I didn't like it anymore.

Black Bay 36. Never thought much of it until I tried one on. I still think about adding one to the collection, even though it’s so similar to my 36mm Explorer…

Tbh I fell for something similar, I always wanted the two tone GMT from the days I worked at a AD ( and couldn’t afford one, then I saw the BLNR and thought ye that’s ok, then one afternoon many years back a patient walked in wearing on and I knew then that that was my favourite! Waiting on one at present and I know I will want others but this will be my favourite!

A friend of mine had one. It’s a nice piece for sure.

Funny, that was my first ceramic Rolex. I ran into a fellow with one about a year ago at the bank. I miss that watch

It's been mine for the last 4 years, and I love it just as much as the first days that I laid eyes on it.
