Very nice. Brings back old memories! I have a hmt quartz that my mom bought for me before a major school exam back in 1995. Still works great!

Here you go ... It's nothing special really, except for sentimental values. It was sitting neglected for decades in a closet until I revived it at a local repair place. Running fine now, on some Japanese (Miyota?) quartz movement.

HMT was part of India's history from that era (my childhood and earlier). Later, they lost out to Titan.

HMT watches, the “Timekeeper For the Nation” for decades, has quite a collector’s following. The history of the company (and of watchmaking in India generally) deserves a Google search or two. Since the watches can often be acquired for less than $25, collectors sometimes have hundreds of them, lol. I myself have around 10. Sadly, HMT’s most prolific collector, author, and social media organizer, Prashant Pandey, contracted Covid-19 and died in May last year at the young age of 39.
