How does Rolex test their watches for water resistance before they ship? Or do they?

I've had a fantasy recently of buying a 300m rope to tie my Sub onto and throw it overboard.

Go ahead. Take lots of pictures! Even if it fails it is under warranty.

They are put in a huge pressure tester. Here is a pix that a forum member posted recently. You can see all the DSSD's awaiting their fate.

I would think that a smaller unit would be used to test the Submariners and the GMT's etc but it is a proper pressure test not one of those pussy one atmosphere of vacuum bizzos.

exactly this is a special equipment developed by COMEX called the hyperbaric chamber...

If the Barracuda goes BELOW a 100m... is the watch still running ?

And is the movement of the fish enough to wind the watch ?

Is the fish happy to know what time it is in Japan ?

Did the social position of the fish change ?
