Help with an unusual reference

Hi all, wondered if you could help me please. Does anyone know the full reference for this piece and know anything about it please in terms of year of production etc? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265527249...CABEgJYcvD_BwE

Thanks in advance

Year is easy: 2008. Because it says so on the handwritten sticker on the outside of the outer box (scroll to last photo).

So, looks like 50th anniversary DD?

Yeh thanks. 50th anniversary I believe. Released at Basel 2006 and only produced for a year or so from what I can tell. Difficult to find much information on it online so would appreciate some of the more experienced guys weighing in if they can.

A Google search for "day date 50th anniversary" has a lot of images, and I believe one or two write-ups from the year of release. Looks like it came with either fluted or diamond bezel.

These 50th anniversary DD dials are similar to those known as Myriad dials, but with the special green color and two additional rows of diamonds, one each above and below the Arabic markers. Like the pavé and Pleiades dials (& unlike most DD dials), the dial plates of Myriads and these are 18K, instead of brass.

The Myriads were generally offered only in gray or champagne (or silver, for WG models); Rolex often offers or introduces a green dial or bezel for anniversary models. The diamond bezel version of this would be a 118348, the fluted bezel model is a 118238.

For comparison, here’s a standard YG Myriad dial DD, in gray:

Thank you. That’s really helpful. Do you happen to know when this anniversary dial was produced from and until? I can only seem to find one available for sale online seemingly worldwide on Chrono24 so I’m also wondering what the value of such a piece is? Thanks again

This is not a run of the mill Rolex crypto and the seller is open to offers.

The value of this model is how much you are prepared to pay.

Thank you. That’s what I thought, it’s worth what someone is willing to pay rather than an average value. Any idea on how long the production run was please?
