TT GMTIIC or SS Daytona
Hi,
I currently have both of these (and Sub LV as my daily watch) but can only keep one but not sure which to keep...i like both equally as much! Which one would you ditch out of Daytona or TT GMTIIC? Cheers mike |

I'm trying to weigh up pro's and cons of each model...
Daytona Pros: White dial, perfect fit on wrist, not too common (in uk anyway) Cons: not too keen on curved edges (bit soft), lack of date TT GMTIIC Pros: Gold centre links, GMT function is cool, newer clasp Cons: black dial similar to Sub LV, can't think of anything else I'm genuinely stuck! |

I'd put both up for sale and see which one went first at an acceptable price. Let fate decide.

I've already got offers on both, so need to make a decision quick. The money doesn't come in to it though...just trying to think which one will compliment the LV the best. Option 3 I suppose would be to sell the LV and keep both TT GMTIIC and Daytona, but that would leave me without a proper toolish watch.

Good luck with your decision. |

I do really get annoyed with myself cause no doubt whichever one I decide to let go within a weeks time it'll be the one that I want!
I'm constanly changing my mind. At the mo I'm more inclined to keep the Daytona...it'll be easier to pick a GMT later. |

Keep the Daytona. Like you said, you can always find another GMT.

Both special watches there. I have GMTII, so naturally I choose that. But Daytona is a frame of mind. If you feel it, you keep it!

I need a date function & never needed a chrono yet, so it has to be the GMT

Keep the Daytona all day long. You live in the UK so you obviously appreciate the difficulty in obtaining one from an AD. The TT GMT is easily found and does not appreciate in monetary terms as per the Daytona, not that that should be an issue.
Forgive me but how useful is the date function anyway? Surely at most you would only need to remind yourself once a day? Anymore than that and i'd start to question myself and my memory !

Kind of like when I was a kid...I took pride in being able to recall over 40 telephone numbers on call for my parents & siblings...yet today, due to cell phones, I barely have 3 phone numbers memorized and the thought of storing 40 numbers in my head seems impossible. |

If it were me, I'd dump the LV and keep the Daytona & GMT IIc.

Keep the GMT IIc. The Daytona is not my cup of tea, but that GMT is gorgeous!

I'm kinda partial to both, and I really like the TT GMT IIc.
I agree with some and sell the Sub LV, the Daytona is always a hard to get timepiece. Here is a side by side comparison, good luck in your decision. |

Here's my take . . .
I love the GMTIIC Two Tone. In fact, it is my favorite watch of all time--by far! It is my daily wearer. As for the Daytona, I appreciate it, but I am not a huge fan. Yes, the no date aspect really bothers me (and I'm still in my 30s so memory isn't a problem). So if I could NEVER replace the watch I were losing, I would keep the GMTIIC Two Tone and ditch the Daytona. If that's your situation, then ditch the Daytona and keep the best watch ever. IMHO HOWEVER, if you plan on replacing this one at a later date, keep the Daytona and sell the GMTIIC Two Tone. Resale on two tone is not very good, so you will be able to pick up a used one at a good price at a later date. Either way, best of luck. |

I'd keep the Daytona as I'm not a big fan of TT.

What model is the Daytona? If it is a Zenith, keep it. If it is a 4130 Vs. the GMT IIc, which one do you use the most? Which one smiles back at you?
