Angular brushing vs straight brushing

Folks,

There is a lot to like about modern Rolexes, but as a person who has both old and new, I never got the reason for Rolex to go from an angular brushing to straight brushing on the lugs. It makes the lugs seem more elegant with the angular brushing and looks great IMO.

Was wondering if someone actually prefers the straight brushing and if anyone knows the reason that Rolex moved to straight brushing instead?
