Is anyone in London UK getting 'the call?'

I am on the waiting list for plenty of non-grail watches at all the usual places, but many months if not years go by with hearing nothing.

Maybe some of my datejust requests are too specific, but I struggle to believe there hasn't been a single Explorer I delivered to my AD.

Anyone getting any luck?

Yes. I picked up an Explorer about two months ago in Surrey. It is possible. You just have to visit often and make yourself known to them.

Rootbeer is my grail watch! I’ve not been as fortunate as that but I did get a DJ41 and YM40 rodium dial within 4 weeks of registering.

No, still waiting for the call, coincidentally for an Explorer (and something else) I've waited for over a year.

I've been on the list for a 124270 from the day it was introduced and just got it beginning of this month. So 1 1/2 year wait, although I did not have an established relationship with that particular AD prior to that. Bought a DJ for my wife earlier this year as first purchase there. I'm based in Germany.

Honestly I'd just wait it out. Demand seems to be slowing considerably.

Yes, 3 this year so far (Sprite, Polar Exp II and blue dial SD) and another one arriving next week (the one I have been waiting longest for!).

Yep. Plus, my SA says stock is starting to get into customer hands now, although sports models are still tough to get - WoS have closed the wait list on those for now.

I think the calls will start, Not referring to London specifically, put my name down for an Explorer II black dial, with an independent Rolex AD, got a call two weeks later picked it up last weekend. It can depend on the rapport that you build and also some Luck of course got on really well with the SA I guess it paid off this time.

love the watch over the moon to add it to my collection. Two GMT's and two Divers. Very happy bunny PS I had no previous purchase history with this AD it can be done don't loose faith.

Me and wife visited my AD today (I have a good relationship with him- have got a sub 41 and Mailgauss off him this year). Not a prior appt- he didn't know we were coming.

We walked out with a Tiffany blue dial OP36 for the wife and Rhodium dial Yachtmaster 40 for me. Absolutely over the moon.
Neither we had expressed an interest in previously- so this was amazing!

You have to buy a less desirable watch and a mainstream DJ before they will entertain any of the popular stuff...

Yeah ive never had this experience. I’ve blatantly asked and they work to a strict list. This is a small AD though. WOS Is another story arrogant and rude in every branch I’ve been in and no interest in engaging with an actual watch enthusiast and potential long term client. Just my experience.

I obtained my first in August followed by the second less than a month ago.

I believe having a good relationship with the SA is vital. My AD is at Oxford Street, London.

That was indeed amazing.

I visited your AD, after you bought your Sub.

I did not connect with the SA. I, however, am now in a relationship with WOS

Haha- worth a try!
Glad to hear that you managed to get a 'relationship' going with WOS!
They have been the worst with me!! But different strokes for different folks!

What have you added to your collection?

Do you mainly stick to AD's close by to your work place or home?
