Which faded GMT Master pepsi bezel insert do you prefer?

Hi all, curious to get your thoughts - I'm looking for a nice faded bezel insert for my 16700 and can't decide between the two here - would love to hear some perspectives on which you would purchase between the 2:

Serif font, but the red might be a tad too faded for my taste

s-l1600 (27) (2).jpg

Non-serif font, but I love the fade

Curious to hear which you prefer and which is better from a value / rarity perspective.

Neither? I would replace it with a new insert imo.

I like the faded look to a point. I still use my watch to tell the time and time various functions for my life and work. I need to be able to read it.

Another vote for neither I'm afraid.

BUT, of the two, the bottom one is "better" IMO as the blue and red portions seem equally knackered, where as the top one looks like an almost brand new blue section and a totally illegible red section.

(Sorry, did I say "knackered"? I meant "aged patina". Yes, that's what I meant...., "aged patina"!)

I am a believer of Form follows Function. A faded bezel no longer performs as intended.

Not a fan of either trouble today many inserts are artificial aged hoping to extract more money from those willing to pay.

Its nice having some options. However, I will say that I did get a really faded one, which does look great but was hard to read in low light. You know, BBQing… Mine is a 1675/3 but I now have 5 inserts. I think I'm done for now. 2x new ones, an all brown and half and half plus 3 period correct with two faded half and half and an all brown. IMO, the one on the bottom does look artificially faded, which you might confirm by seeing the other side.

The other side - does this look artificial to you? Would the underside of the bezel appear lighter if so?

I prefer bright colored, legible inserts. Faded bezel inserts remind me of jeans with torn knees.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

Yep this is how it should look …. The pictures from the original post remind me of buying a pair of already worn shoes… I can understand if you have owned the watch yourself from new but to buy it and put it on? Hard pass…

I don't mind a little 'patina' but only when it's uniform across the entire bezel.

Have to say neither on this one, it would be a new insert for me.
