Back in October asked my AD about a Rootbeer. And it's arrived. Mine is actually still in the delivery box so I tried on another one.

Going to decide whether having 2 GMTs (my only watch other than a Tag Aquaracer) is needed. Have an Apple watch so don't wear a proper watch as much, maybe only 1-2 times a week. So not sure if I need both. Not had bi-metal before either.

Whilst the same model, they do have a different look. Has anyone else got more than one version of the same model?

The rootbeer has recently become my favorite GMT... Nice problem to have!

Great watches and different enough in appearance to have both in a collection.

Many, many members here have multiples of the same model. Specifying between those two… I definitely think they are different enough to keep both.

As Richard says, many members here have multiples of the same watch. Some focus on Divers while others focus on GMT’s or Chronographs.

No right or wrong in this hobby

I like them both. I have two GMTs as well and, like you, one is a BLNR and the other a two tone (steel and yellow gold). They are different enough to keep them both. My two tone is my most special watch.

I'd stick with both and look for more opportunities to wear them both.

They are indeed different enough to own both, but only if you are planning to wear both.
I also have 2 GMT's (Rootbeer and Pepsi) and only wear the Pepsi.

I have had the BLNR from new since 2014 and considering selling but wanted to see how I get on with the Rootbeer.

Huge congrats! I had the rootbeer, still have my BLNR but on Jubilee. If you keep both the jubilee bracelet would make it feel more different. That being said the 2 watches wear so differently, nothing wrong with you keeping both as is.

As i see it the Rootbeer is the 'warmer' and 'softer' version of the SS. The colours and the material take away a little of the robustness of the SS. It all depends on your preference i guess.
I find the SS more suitable for daily wear.

You will find out after wearing it for a while. If you don't bond with it you can always sell with no loss.

But one suggesion: DON'T SELL THE BLNR (yet)!

Different. Wife wears two tone. It’s her favorite looking rolex.

Wasn't planning on offloading just yet and the lady at my AD says I'd regret selling the BLNR.

Sick pairing. I think you'll like the bi-metal nature of the TT. Whatever decision you end up making, you've got great taste.

Grats. I say keep both if you like GMTs. I have 2 subs and will be adding a 3rd within a year as my preference is dive watches.

There is enough aesthetic and visual difference between the two to justify keeping both.

I unloaded my CHNR mind, after short deliberation it wasn’t my kind of watch.

Picked up Charlie Brown last weekend to complement the BLNR. It’s only been a week but no concerns with overlap at this point - very different pieces! Go vintage GMT next if you want to mix it up. Congrats!
