Consolidation Decision - help me with future plan

Dear TRF,

I am consolidating my current watch collection and laying out a future plan for a 6-pieces watch collection. Suppose you have the following collection:
1) Rolex Submariner(116610LV)
2) Rolex GMT-Master II(126710BLNR)
3) Rolex Cosmograph Daytona(126500LN)
4) Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43(AB0138211B1A1)
5) Patek Philippe Calatrava dress watch

Presently, I have 1, 2, 4, and Omega Speedy in my current watch collection.
Would you add an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional or an Omega Seamaster 300m Diver to the above collection?

Speedmaster over Seamaster absolutely every time in my book. Then you can also drop the Navi!

I'll get some flack for this but, in my opinion, the speedy is a superior chrono to the Daytona.

So if you don't have either yet, go for the speedy, drop the navi then put all remaining efforts into your dress watch.

After that you just need a 'land' watch and you're all set

Why add a Seamaster to a collection that already has a Sub and another turning bezel? Unless you like it for what it is aesthetically, but then you’d know that. If it’s just a matter of having the « role » covered, your Sub does that in terms of function (diver) and your GMT does that in terms of look (black round turning bezel). The Speedy on the other hand goes well into a « legendary chronographs » lineup with the Daytona and the Navi. The question though is whether that lineup is something that makes sense to own or whether it should be in some museum. Just because something is thematically coherent, does not mean you have to have three watches that do exactly the same thing. Personally I would choose one of the three, probably the Speedy as that binds the least ressources in relation to how versatile it is, and use the remaining money on a more ambitious gold watch, like a VC Traditionelle or a Lange 1, in addition to the very simple Calatrava, or make the Calatrava a 6119 or 5227.

You have the Speedy on your collection, why asking?

I was going to say this, but felt bad on rolexforum :)

I’d take speedy over any sports chrono out there.

I agree. Unless the other sports chrono is a Chronomaster; The Revival and Original are cool designs, and the El Primero is among the best, most historically significant line of chronograph movements.

Seamasters with a gas wart are never an answer. Ugly, gaudy watches.

Thank you for your opinion....I've got the Speedy right now, looking to build a 3-part classic Rolex sport collection by adding the Daytona next to the line-up right now

I'm keeping the Navi, it's a cool pilot watch~

I think I'm just gonna keep my Speedy and add from there, my plan is to buy Daytona next to my collection....I'll worry about the dress watch later on

My initial plan was a full-fleet 8 watches collection on my drawing board, then I think that is just way too much watches for me.....so I keep consolidating down to 6 and wanted a second opinion what to keep.....

Thank you for asking~

I think I'm gonna hang on to my Speedy after hearing everybody's opnion.....and I have to agree with you especially to the flimsy bracelet that comes with the Seamaster compared to the solid Oyster bracelet on the Submariner

Thank you for your opinion
