Thanks. Even the Olive dial only trades slightly over list. |

I wouldn’t make this trade. The PN Daytona is arguably the best combination on the Daytona and is very sought after, I also think it will be collectible and more appreciated down the road as far as more modern Daytonas go. As others have said, the new model also has a lot less personality and it’s worlds more difficult to source at an AD.

I own 2 Daydates so I’ve voted with my wallet. I have the White Gold with Olive dial (2016) and an Everose with Olive dial (2022) and would never sell either of them. However I know 2 friends who sold their Daydate 40’s in the last 6 weeks and I can tell you they didn’t struggle whatsoever to sell their watches for very strong money into the grey market. I really don’t see the Daydate as a flippers watch but more of a well seasoned, experienced Rolex buyer who wants to own a watch that has an incredible heritage and is a complete joy to own and wear. |

I'm not trying to make a moral judgement on the matter or draw conclusions on what kind of person buys a day date, it's immaterial as this thread is basically a commercial one...ie is the trade fair? Can you be more specific about what you mean by 'strong money'? |

I have no view on the trade question in the O/P and might revisit it later. All I will say is that both my friends sold their Daydate 40 watches for 10-14% ahead of what they paid for them so that’s reasonable in my view if that’s your metric. Interested to know what watches you actually own if you want to share? |

I think I may go against the grain here… but yes, I would rather wear a DD then a Daytona. The Daytona is an incredible watch, no doubt, but the dial is just too busy for me. I had an 116520 but eventually got rid of it, I guess my old eyes just gave up. Plus, the DD is widely recognized as the epitome of Rolex. So, if it were me… yes

Badly worded?? That's coming from the guy who doesn’t know when to not to use a capital letter or how to use an adverb properly? Why do you want to know which watches I own? What difference does it make in the context of this thread? Do you want to get into some kind of childish willy waving contest? A standard DD40 without a hype dial will be bought by trade below retail right now in the UK, that's fact. |

As an all around watch, I'd prefer the Day Date 40. I've got a Daytona TT and a DD40 and frankly I turn to the DD first for wrist time. Good luck with your decision making!!!

Both would be the perfect two rotation watch. Sport watch and dress watch. Just got the 116519LN. Very happy with it.
