Dial and serial number

Hi Gents .

Unfortunately another my AD Said ! . Is it true Rolex now stamp the serial number on the dial , ? Or does he mean on specific models ie You buy a YG Daytona with a Black dial and fancy a Green Mayer , or Swap your white dial SkyDweller to Blue,

I know Rolex UK won’t play ball swapping dials on certain models ,but the watch serial number stamped on the dial ?

First I have heard of this. I believe the answer is no unless it just started with this years new releases. I doubt it though.

Very doubtful but I would actually prefer if they did this. It's hard to know for certain on pre-owned if the watch was born with the dial or if it was an RSC swap unless the seller discloses it. Too bad the new green cards don't include the dial info at all no matter the country/region.

Rolex doesn't put the serial number on anything else, why would they suddenly decide to mark a dial?

The only serials on any Rolex watch are the case serial and movement serial all others are just parts numbers.

Sorry to say you’re incorrect on that one mate!

Rolex have over the last few years started matching dials to watches, on some models at least.

They might match a dial to part number dial to a reference watch but they are not serial numbers as to be a serial it must be one only unique for that watch. And just cannot see Rolex putting a unique serial on every single dial they make, as even today dials are still made in 3 different factories now all owned by Rolex..

Bas confirmed it on here in a discussion I was having a while back l, I can’t remember the ins and outs he would better to explain of course. But they do match dials to watches now.

You should contact Bas and ask him to explain this to you again?

I have no need to, was just sharing some relevant information that is helpful to the OP. He’s a Rolex watchmaker as far as I know I think any information he does or has shared on here, is as close to factual as you come across on this forum, to me at least.

My personal experience of this was from my own AD. Who told me Rolex had started to do this now when they swap dials.
