Good point. I see two on TRF for about $9,500. Also, no sales tax.

I found this picture of my old two tone OP Date. This is what got me thinking about the TT Exp. This was actually a 34mm. The only Rolex I ever sold (and later regretted, though the funds were needed for my 116710.).

Interesting! Looks a bit like my old OP Date pictured above.

The proportions (the taper in particular) of the 5701 look similar those of the 12427X.

This two tone Explorer looks great, and of course it an all rounder and can be used everyday.

I’m either in the minority, or, probably just the less vocal majority that thinks this is a really cool watch. It like it in the same way I like the TT Submariner. Actually, more.

Could this be a daily? I don’t baby my watches. Well, maybe a little, but I don’t put them in harms way either. That’s why I have my G-Shock.

A little too small for me personally, but always thought of it as a perfect time only dress watch....

I love mine. Always loved TT YG with a black dial. And the way the light tends to catch the smooth YG bezel is so cool.

Warming up to the Gold

Owning a 40 Yr-Old 1016 and looking for a new GADA i thought the 124270 would be it. Checked it out in store and only 2 Negatives...1) i think the 369 are a bit too large (see them before the hands at a quick glance) 2) the minute hand should touch the minutes i.e. its too short... otherwise love the rest of the watch. That being said the TT version softens the indices and the 369 so they don't appear so large...doesn't help with the short minute hand...but after wearing my 1016 and its perfect legible dial i think i could wear the TT Explorer daily without missing the 1016 ....well maybe would miss it a bit ..lol

Tried on Two Tone Explorer 124273 - Wow!

Adam, logo, thank you for the photos of the vintage TT Explorers. I love mine. So comfy, melts on my wrist, and I wear it like I would a SS version. I just like the TT as I find it gives the watch that extra little pop. I agree with the advice on buying this reference on the secondary market. Take advantage now as this reference is still not loved by most. Good luck!

Appreciate the continued feedback/opinions as well as the everyday pictures. I’m still deciding between this and few other models. I’m all over the map.

Nevertheless, I feel this is a really cool watch and will age nicely.

I mentioned that years ago I had a 15203 with a unique white dial. I wore it everywhere. That exact watch recently showed up on a grey website and sold within a few hours. And that was a 34mm.

I miss my two tone OP but I like the 124273 better.

Decisions!

I’d say less vocal majority. Haters in any topic tend to shout the loudest

This watch makes more sense to me than the two tone sea dweller, but I’m still left scratching my head.

Purchased Yesterday From AD- first time
I’ve ever seen it in person and yes just like everyone else this watch is amazing!

I like all sizes of watches- it is really just a stunner.

Conversation Piece with any enthusiast

I have sky dweller, submariner and now this!

So of your still reading here is the MOST Interesting Part.

The debate on exhibition only pieces “are they real or not”

well I can tell you for a fact they are real and I can tell you that this piece I just purchased was an exhibition piece marked exhibition and had an exhibition tag on it.

I told the A.D. “I can’t believe I love this watch so much thank gosh it’s an exhibition piece or I would want it”

He said well actually, this is one of the pieces we can offer you.

Rolex requires us to have so many on hand , and after so many days as a display, we are authorized to sell some of the exhibition pieces. I purchased it right then and there.

I do have spending history and I’m really not a flipper but they know I’ve not loved some pieces as much as others.

They speculated the 124273 “Rolesor Explorer 36”
Will be discontinued soon.

I love the watch -
